The traditions of reciting the pledge of allegiance, shooting fireworks on Independence Day, and electing our most powerful public official every four years have become a major part of every American's identity. Where would we be today without these traditions? Would America truly be the greatest country in the world? Would we truly be free?

Yet, traditions are why we separated from Great Britain in the first place. King George broke tradition by allowing Parliament to lay and collect taxes on the American colonies, a right that previously belonged to the colonies themselves. Our declaration of independence from England was based on our belief in the traditions that we held dear.

Tradition is a powerful thing that unites us, and creating new traditions and experiences only helps the country grow into something even bigger. It re-establishes America's status as the world's greatest country. Whether it's kicking off a football on Thanksgiving, watching the new season of your favorite TV show, celebrating a special occasion with family, or even just getting together with friends every day, traditions are what bring America together, and they will always make our country stronger.

Government has secrets. If it didn't, we'd never be safe. Yet, the number of secrets that government has is growing substantially. Not all of them protect national security or personal privacy. There are many secrets that Americans don't know about yet pay for.

Much of America's taxpayer dollars are going towards these secrets, many of which are unnecessary. The government should continue to search out and cut many of these programs. Transparency and responsibility in government is essential. It must be taken seriously.

On October 30, 1735, John Adams was born in Braintree, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard in 1755 and became a well known lawyer. After marrying his wife Abigail in 1764, Adams had six children (including John Quincy Adams).

In 1788, John Adams was elected the first Vice President of the United States. Later on, in 1796 he was elected as the second President of the United States and served one four-year term.

Last night's Presidential Debate may have been the best ever. While the debate will likely be decided by partisan information from both sides, the aggression and the fight from both candidates showed the American people that the two people they'v put their trust in are probably the biggest fighters in politics right now.

That's how you kickoff the road to the general election. Great job by both campaigns. It was thrilling to see!

The $100 bill. Once a rarity amongst the American population, is now seen in the hundreds within a single United States business. While the significance of the hundred dollar bill still stands today, its use and effective worth continue to dwindle as alternative forms of payment become the norm.

With the gold standard completely done away with, paper money's purpose has been lost. With it, the reliability of money has been lost. Relying on the idea of money, and not the physical presence of money itself can be dangerous. While geeks fight day-in and day-out to keep those numbers alive, we've seen weird things happen when ideas don't pan out. Nobody's mind is big enough to hold everyone's information and nobody should be trusted with that.

So, we're left with an easy, but a somewhat ineffective cop out version of worth in this country. Numbers that we could lose on a moments notice. It's a scary thought, but sometimes realizing the threat is the best first step forward.

However, this week the city of Chicago plays host to the Democratic National Convention. This week, Chicago plays host to a campaign that abandoned its cause halfway through. This week, the voices of the American people will be disrespected. It all takes place in Chicago, Illinois.

The weather is a creation that serves a purpose in our lives. For the farmers, it waters the ground, nurturing the crops and providing survivability and prosperity. It provided us with a means to unlocking power and technological advances.

The weather can also create a temporary challenge. Natural disasters have taken so many lives and so many jobs over the years. The people who suffer from these events have to start over and earn everything once again.

This world wouldn't be what it is without the challenges that we face, yet we strive to face them together. America, and the rest of the world at large has resolved to protect civilians across the globe from danger and that's exactly what we're going to do.

Our creator crafted this strategy to protect everything that is good in the world (Romans 8:28). Thus, wildlife is a reminder that we are a part of something bigger than the relationships that we create, the ideas we believe in, or the problems that we have. The earth is a special place and it is privilege to live on it, no matter what species you are.

Economic opportunity in the United States should not be infringed upon. People work too hard day-in and day-out to earn their life savings. They should be free to pursue their economic endeavors as they see fit for themselves and those that depend on them.

The United States has increased the number of ways to generate wealth and entrepreneurship is now as easy as clicking a few buttons. Hard work and dedication will pay off with the right motivation and determination. Don't stop fighting America.

The blessings of liberty are to be secured for ourselves and those who come after us. Those we leave behind. Those who bring us great memories. Those who tell our stories.

While we built this world and are changing it again, the next generation may want to change it once more. They need the freedom to do that. They should be able to do that. What we leave behind should be special to us, but what the next generation creates with it should be even greater than before.

Ultimately, we have a duty to the next generation which is why selfish policies that ensure results for our children rather than ourselves should not immediately be cast aside as not important. It's time for us to wake up and put money away for tomorrow while we still can.

Religious freedom in the United States is a tradition worth fighting for. The Bible is the most publicized, printed, and purchased writing of all time, and rightfully deserves its place in history. The beautiful passages of wisdom accurately display truths that guide many Americans throughout their lives.

Yet, I feel like religion is being very disrespected in America today. From basic religious principles coming under attack, to people who claim to be religious demonstrating traits that insinuate otherwise, to people openly leaving religious institutions because they aren't "cool enough"; the lack of respect for scripture has spread rapidly throughout the United States.

Religion is a life long commitment to follow the guidance of a spiritual being with authoritative power. The disrespect towards religion shows a dissatisfaction with the idea that religion is an overarching restriction, which it is not supposed to be.

Religion is supposed to be principles by which people live their free lives, but people misinterpret religion to mean that men are supposed to be entitled figures and that children will always have to obey their parents until they die. This is not the case, and it never was.

Take Christianity for example. Ecclesiastes 11:9 explains perfectly how we are to live our lives. "Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment."

This might be one of the most clear texts in the Bible. Humans are to have free will, but should also abide by a set of guidelines provided by their authoritative being. This is what the First Amendment protects and what religious freedom has always abided by in the United States.

Americans should view religion as a lifestyle that teaches them how to exercise free will effectively. They need to live aware of the dangers of the world, but should not cease to live in the great world that we were born in. That is what religions teach and that is what we support in the U.S.

Many Americans still rely on gasoline to power their vehicles and certain parts of their home. The price of gas is an essential part of the United States economy.

Since January of 2021, the price of gas has gone up severely. By the summer of 2022, the price of gas had doubled. It has gone down since then, but over the entirety of the Biden Administration, we're looking at a 50% increase nationwide.

Many Americans still rely on gasoline to power their vehicles and certain parts of their home. The price of gas is an essential part of the United States economy.

The battle for our country has now infiltrated the court system. We've seen this throughout history, time and time again.

Socrates was put on trial for merely questioning religious leaders, Galileo was put on trial for contending that the sun, not the earth, was at the center of the universe, Jesus was put on trial for claiming to be the Son of God.

Political agendas and corruption stands completely against who we are as a nation. This week, we reached a new level of corruption. Love him or hate him, it's not Donald Trump we're defending. It's our nation, our constitution, and our freedoms. Political warfare at this level is as un-American as we could possibly be. The United States needs to stand up for itself before the country shatters into pieces.
